Odisha ended their campaign with a six-wicket defeat at the hands of Kerala in a Group-A super league match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T-20 Cricket Tournament at Indore on Friday. This was Odisha’s third defeat in four matches and they finished with four points
Put into bat, Odisha made a modest total of 125 for eight thanks to a run-a-ball 28 by all-rounder Ankit Yadav and 20 each by Govind Poddar and Lagnajit Samal. N Niyas and V Jagadeesh claimed two wickets each for Kerala.
Chasing 126 for victory, Kerala rode on an unbeaten 41 by Sanju Viswanadh and his fourth-wicket stand worth 64 runs with Sachin Baby (33) to romp home with four balls to spare. This was Kerala’s third successive win and they continued to the lead the group table with full 12 points.
